2024 Elections | ANC wary of toxic political coalitions
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the governing party won't work with parties that could cost them politically
He slammed some coalitions, saying they've brought instability to the country's municipalities.
His remarks follow the ANC's two-day workshop into coalitions and local governance
"We wish to reiterate 2024, to us, means working towards outright ANC majority.
"We are not looking at 2024 in the eye of coalitions. Others do but we don't," he said.
"We’ll work every day to ensure we register a decisive majority.
"Coalitions as we’ve seen them, in terms of local government, have brought a lot of instability and unreliability and total collapse of governance in some of the municipalities," he said.
The ANC says it will be going back to the drawing board to review some of the coalition partners they believe could suit their political blocks.
