After a cash robbery, two suspects were detained, and the police fatally shot the third.
Following a heist on the R29 Road in Leslie, Mpumalanga, at around 9am on Monday, two suspects were detained, and a third suspect was fatally shot by police.
Security guards carrying money bags intended for a place in Leslie were ambushed by a group of armed suspects, according to Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police.
The suspects alllegedly opened fire on the security officers as they were walking with the sacks of cash, but fortunnately no one was hit at the time. The suspects then took the guards's cash bags, according to Mohlala.
When Leslie police received word of the event, they reacted right away. During a gunfight, one of the suspects in a silvery gray VW Polo was shot. The two suspects were apprehended by the police and detained near some businesses, they aew thought to have been accomplices in the robbery, according to Mohlala.
