Pablo Escobar's 'Cocaine Hippos' Causing Havoc at Ruined Estate
While infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar may be gone, his legacy lives on in his ‘cocaine hippos’, who continue to run amok in his abandoned Hacienda Nápoles estate and the surrounding area, causing increasing chaos for the local community and environment. The hippos were initially part of an exotic menagerie collected by Escobar in the 1980s, but since the drug kingpin’s death in 1993, the hippos have broken free of their enclosure and have been doing pretty much as they please, and that includes breeding like rabbits
