Police claim that AKA's murder was an assassination.

According to the police, rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes was assassinated.
Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the commissioner of the KwaZulu-Natal police, stated in a television interview that they had no doubt the murder was a hit based on the evidence they had gathered. On Florida Road in Durban on Friday night, Forbes, 35, and his buddy, chef Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane, were both fatally shot. According to Mkhwanazi, they had observed two suspects cross the street. He claimed two shooters were involved, one of whom approached AKA from behind and shot him in the ear while the other strolled behind a parked car.He rushed away after shooting AKA twice but not the guy who was accompanying him. The other criminal joined in combat and fired a few shots; one of them struck Motsoane, killing him. We are aware that the first target was AKA, and the second target might have been any obstruction. Given the number of persons in the firing line and the distance the second suspect was at when he fired, anyone in the line may have been struck by the bullet. Sadly, it succeeded in getting him [Motsoane]," remarked Mkhwanazi. According to Mkhwanazi, they think the second suspect fired to make sure no one reacted to the initial hit on AKA.

Mkhwanazi said their inquiry would involve looking into everyone who had touch with the AKA and Motsoane prior to their visits to and exits from the Wish on Florida restaurant.

He claimed that they were also examining any other person's data that had been acquired shortly following the shooting.

In order to determine whether the hit's planners were among the onlookers after the shooting, he claimed that it would be helpful to observe how everyone who was there at the crime scene behaved.

We are investigating every other lead we can find. Any other person who was near those persons will continue to be investigated for the time being.

We may infer from our reading that he had a foe somewhere, whether it was someone who was present at the time and made the decision to act in that way, someone who was traveling with him from somewhere, or someone he may have harbored a grudge against in the past for unknown reasons. We're attempting to put everything together, Mkhwanazi remarked.
He declared that nothing could currently be connected to the murder. He claimed that identifying AKA's adversary was their major goal.

Col. Robert Netshiunda, a spokesman for the KwaZulu-Natal police, said on Tuesday that inquiries were still ongoing.
