Police divers explore a river after a fatal bus accident in Limpopo
In Limpopo, a collision between an armored truck and a bus resulted in 20 fatalities and 60 injuries.
According to the regional transportation department, police divers were looking "for people who might have been washed away" in a river that borders the roadway.
Ten passengers, according to Limpopo Transport spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene, suffered critical injuries.
Police are en route to the scene to see if everyone has been rescued and to see if anyone has been carried away, the woman said.
But right now, the process of just making an inventory of everyone and notifying next of kin is in motion.
The collision between the bus and the cash-in-transit vehicle resulted in the deaths of twenty individuals.
According to Tidimalo Chuene, a department official, the accident's cause is still under investigation, but recent days have seen the area drenched in rain.
