Police officers were detained after they allegedly insisted on paying R15,000 for the case docket.

Two police officers were detained at their places of employment for allegedly selling a case docket: a warrant officer and a sergeant assigned to the Sekgosese police station in Limpopo's Mopani District.

According to Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, spokesman for the Limpopo police, the complainant in the case allegedly paid R10,000, but the officers insisted on receiving an additional R5,000 to close the file.

"After receiving a complaint from the victim saying that he received a call from one of the police seeking a payoff equal to R15 000 to erase a case docket, members of the provincial anti-corruption unit initiated an inquiry. The members apparently insisted on getting the remainder after paying R10,000," Mojapelo stated.

A few time after they allegedly received the balance, the two police officers were detained.
