Truck, bus, and vehicle collision on N12 near Edenvale off-ramp results in 43 injuries.
43 hurt in N12 crash
On Wednesday afternoon, 43 people were hurt in a collision involving a bus, a truck, and many automobiles on the N12 motorway close to the Edenvale off-ramp in Johannesburg.
"When crews arrived on the scene, they encountered complete mayhem. 43 persons suffered injuries ranging from mild to critical after a truck, a bus, and many light motor vehicles crashed, according to Kyle van Reenen, a spokeswoman for Emer-G-Med.
According to Van Reenen, some seriously injured victims were flown to hospitals, while others were taken by ambulance to hospitals close by, and some were treated on the spot.
In the Western Cape, car accidents in Stellenbosch, Klapmuts, and Bridgetown caused at least 35 injuries and one fatality in less than five days.In the most recent incident, which happened on Tuesday, two light motor vehicles and a bakkie crashed on Polkadraai Road in Stellenbosch, injuring nine persons.
