Why the nurse was stabbed: Skyf break horror!

Nomantu Nkomo, the Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness, denounced the assault on the hospital's nursing staff by criminals posing as an injured patient's bodyguard.

Nkomo claimed that two guys transporting a wounded patient to the hospital attacked a nurse in the belly.

She claimed that the perpetrators tried to rob the nurse of his smartphone before stabbing him in the parking lot after approaching him as he went outside for a comfort break.

The MEC criticized individuals who had come to ask for assistance for a buddy who had been stabbed in the hand for harming others who had been sent to assist them.

It is reported that before the male nurse was stabbed, there was an attempt to rob him and the two men were unruly at the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department.

"They violently demanded hospital staff to immediately attend to their friend, while they were busy with patients who came first and had more severe injuries," she said.

She further stated that the two men also argued with staff and other escorts who had accompanied other patients.

"One of them became too violent and slapped another escort accompanying a patient," she said.

Security personnel at the hospital intervened and the culprits fled the scene after their attempt to rob the health worker failed.
